Snakeshead Fritillary Bulb Collection combines two elegant spring-flowering favourites, pairing the distinctive purple chequered flowers of Fritillaria meleagris with the rarer white form, Fritillaria meleagris Alba. Supplied as 30 bulbs, with 15 of each variety, this collection is perfect for creating beautiful, natural-looking displays that return year after year.
Flowering during April and May, the graceful nodding, bell-shaped blooms rise above slender stems to create a delicate display in borders, woodland gardens and containers. The rich purple flowers and softly chequered white blooms complement one another beautifully, while also making attractive additions to spring cut flower arrangements.
Easy to grow and generally trouble-free, these hardy perennials perform best in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil in partial shade. Allow them to naturalise in grass or woodland-style planting for an increasingly impressive display each spring. As with all Fritillaria, occasional checks for Lily Beetle are recommended to keep plants looking their best.
